How to Order a Chip

When using this chip, I recommend that the standard supporting equipment be upgraded, like fuel pump, upgraded fuel pump wiring (hotwire), adjustable fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure gauge, adjustable wastegate, etc. I also recommend a scantool and accurate boost gauge (not the stock gauge). It will be impossible to tune the car, or make changes to the chip without those tools.

1. Decide what type of chip you're looking for. See the descriptions of the different chips below:

Chip Definitions (for 86/87 intercooled cars):

The most commonly used TurboTweak chip in use is the "Classic version 5.6". There are more advanced TurboTweak chips, but they require a Powerlogger and Wideband O2 setup. You can read about those at the online store if you want.

Street chip: Order this chip if you're using pump gas (91-94 octane). You can typically run 16-18psi boost in most cases (a little lower with 91oct). WOT (wide open throttle) fuel will be set up for the 16-18psi boost level and around 18 degrees timing. This chip can be used with alcohol injection. If you have alky injection, and you want the option of turning the alky off and running without it, then order a Street chip. This chip will not typically pass emissions testing. Torque converter locks at 45mph during cruising, and fan turn-on around 165* (unless otherwise specified). I do not set the torque converter to lock at WOT, as it typically causes too much knock and breakage. If you still want it to lock at WOT, you have to specifically tell me.

Alcohol chip: Order this chip if using alcohol injection (any fuel octane), and you plan to keep the alky system on at all times. Timing is increased to around 21-23 degrees, typical target boost is increased to the 20-25psi range, along with some other small tweaks to work better with the alcohol. Alcohol injection MUST be used with this chip. Excess knock will occur if the alcohol is turned off and you go to full boost.

Race chip: Order this chip if using race fuel only (100 octane and higher), no alcohol injection, high timing around 26 degrees depending on octane and combo, more WOT fuel for high boost. I need to know what your goals are, what boost range you're going to run, and octane of the race fuel. I can make the torque converter lock at WOT if you request it. Will not typically pass emissions testing. Torque converter locks at 45mph during cruising, and fan turn-on around 165* (unless otherwise specified).

Emissions chip: for use with emissions testing only, basically a slightly modified stock chip to work with different injectors. Not set up for full throttle use. I can't guarantee you'll pass emissions testing with this chip, but most people do ok. I do not make changes to emissions chips. It either works or it doesn't.

2. Gather the requested info about your car.

When ordering a chip, I need the info listed below. If ordering online it will allow you to enter the info before payment.

-86/87 car, or 84/85, or 84/85 with a 86/87 ECM
-Injector type, part# is helpful if you're not absolutely sure
-Turbo
-Intercooler
-Torque converter stall, lockup or non-lock
-Cylinder head type and/or modifications
-Camshaft, duration at .050" is good enough. Example 206/206, or 214/214
-Octane fuel used
-Is the ECM getting the proper MPH signal (give or take a few MPH), check scantool for this.
-If you want WOT lock of the torque converter for racing, let me know. I don't recommend it for street chips (causes knock and breakage).
-If you have a stock MAF, make sure it has at least 1 screen in it (stock MAF's had 2 screens). NO screenless MAF's, it really screws up the calibration.
-If using alcohol injection, what kit do you have, and how many nozzles.

3. Order the chip at the online store. The online store will accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Paypal, or you can mail a check/money order. The store will ask you the info above about your car and setup.

I do not accept old chips for credit towards new chips (only TurboTweak chips that you are upgrading).

Adjustments to the chip to work with your car better are free for a year to the original owner. This would include things like changing the turbo or intercooler, but does not include changing the injectors, since I have to write a new program for that.  All other upgrades to the chip are $55 (other upgrades would be if you are not the original owner, you changed injectors, or changing to a newer version chip).

If using check or money order, make out to "TurboTweak". For sending payment and/or chips for upgrading, here is the mailing address:
