For version 6.1, there are just a couple small changes over version 6.0.

    1. For alcohol chips, I usually have a delay after you hit the gas before high timing is enabled in order to reduce knock before the alky really starts spraying. In the 6.1 chip, if you add timing to the 1st/2nd gear adjustment, the chip will assume you want to get more aggressive, and it will remove the high timing delay when under 35mph. For some people this may help achieve a better launch at the track. Again, this is only for one of my alcohol chips. It has no effect on my street or race chip.

    2. To those that have a Powerlogger, it now has the capability to change the user adjustable features directly, by typing in the new number into the BLM grid on the data page. The Powerlogger needs to have the latest software update. Version 6.1 chips enable that feature (it wouldn’t work with 6.0). The purpose of this feature is just to allow you to change the 8 user adjustable parameters in the chip though Powerlogger, instead of using the “gas pedal” method. The 8 adjustable features are displayed in the bottom 2 rows of the BLM grid.

For version 5.7, there are just a few small changes over version 5.6.

    1. Normally, my chips operate in open loop at idle for smoothness. Some people have requested closed loop for various reasons, so I’ve added the ability to enable closed loop idle. Here’s how to enable it: Turn key on (engine off), push gas pedal to floor, turn key off. That’s it. From then on, idle will be closed loop (after warmup). If you want to go back to open loop idle, disconnect power to the ECM to reset it.

    2. For alcohol chips, I usually have a delay after you hit the gas before high timing is enabled, in order to reduce knock before the alky really starts spraying. In the 5.7 chip, if you add timing to the 1st/2nd gear adjustment, the chip will assume you want to get more aggressive, and there will be no delay for the high timing under 35mph. For some people this may help achieve a better launch at the track. Again, this is only for one of my alcohol chips. It has no effect on my street or race chip.

    3. To those that have a Powerlogger, it now has the capability to change the user adjustable features directly, by typing in the new number into the BLM grid on the data page. The Powerlogger needs to have the latest software update. Version 5.7 chips enable that feature (it wouldn’t work with 5.6). The purpose of this feature is just to allow you to change the 4 user adjustable parameters in the chip though Powerlogger, instead of using the “gas pedal” method. The 4 adjustable features are displayed in the bottom row of the BLM grid.

These are the only changes. Otherwise, the chip works just like the 5.6 version.
